2015 was a big ol’ year for me!  Here’s the lowdown of everything that went, well… down, this year! (I’m just the coolest.)

In the nerdy nutrition realm, I attended two conferences: The Nutritional Therapy Association’s (NTA) Annual Conference in Vancouver, WA, and Paleo f(x) in Austin, TX.  It was my first time attending conferences like these and it was a ton of fun seeing some of my favorite nutritional celebrities and bloggers.  Some of my favorite talks were from folks like Dr. Terry Wahls, Dr. Sarah Ballantyne, PhD, Diane Sanfilippo, and Melissa Hartwig.  I also got to meet some of my instagram buddies and chat with them in real life, like normal people!

In June, I completed the Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP) certification, and started my business in the Fall.  I’ll be posting very soon on my experience with the NTA and the NTP program, so stay tuned on that!  The information I learned and the people I met, made that program an unforgettable experience!

In July, after a lot of consideration for both my health and happiness, I decided to leave my structural engineering practice behind.  It had been a large part of my life, both purely in the time commitment and how I identified myself.  Although I will always have an appreciation for engineering, and will keep that analytical frame of mind, it was best for me to move on to something that brought me more joy and was less draining on my health.  Something I’ve learned in the last 5 years since my diagnosis with RA is that my lifestyle is a huge factor in my overall health.  The demands of my career were affecting my health for the worse, and it wasn’t something I could continue with.  I’m thankful for my husband’s support and advocacy for my health.  Without him, I’m not sure I could have left that life behind when I did.

With that gigantic shift in my professional life, I started to dream of a nutritional therapy practice where I could help others improve their health, jut like I had done for myself.  The Tasty Remedy, LLC was born and I began working with clients!  It’s been an amazing experience so far, and I’ve really enjoyed seeing my client’s health blossom.  You can check out more about what I do as a Nutritional Therapist and sign up for a free health strategy session here!

The Tasty Remedy blog has seen some changes, too!  At the beginning of the year, I treated myself to a brand new camera, and vowed to improve my photography skills.  With the help of some great resources, like Eat Pretty Things by Trisha Hughes and Scrumptious & Styled by Caroline Potter, I’ve started to hone those skills.  It’s been incredibly fun to learn something artistic and new!  I’ve sure come a long way from those cell phone photos I started with and I’m looking forward to my photos getting better and better!

Recipe development has been a blast as well!  I love spending a long day in the kitchen creating delicious food to share with you all.

Here are the Top 5 Most Viewed Recipes from the blog in 2015!

With 2015 being a big year of changes, I can’t wait to see what will come in 2016!  Happy New Year to all of you, and I’ll see you on the flip side!

I want to hear from you!  What are some of your favorite memories from 2015?
